Join Dorchester County for “A Salute to Our Veterans” — a community ceremony and celebration honoring the brave men and women who have served our country.

Ceremony Highlights

  • Welcome remarks from the Dorchester County Veterans Affairs Office

  • Keynote address by U.S. Navy Commander (Ret.) Ely Infante

  • Special recognition for Korean War and WWII veterans

  • Live music by the 208th Army Band Brass Quintet

  • Veteran poetry reading by local poet Jack Smith

  • Presentation of colors by the Woodland High School JROTC Color Guard

Post-Ceremony Activities

  • Explore military vehicle displays, historic artifacts, and interactive exhibits

  • Giveaways and special tokens of appreciation for veterans

Veteran Lunch Registration

Veterans who register in advance will receive a complimentary boxed lunch.

Visit the Farmers Market After the Event

This year’s event is in partnership with the Dorchester Heritage Center. After the ceremony, guests are invited to re-park and visit the Highway 78 Farmers Market, where select vendors will offer special giveaways and discounts for veterans (first-come, first-served).
