We are pleased to share that the Dorchester Heritage Foundation has been awarded a grant from the Coastal Community Foundation (CCF) in the amount of $3,000. This grant will significantly expand opportunities for students and the public to engage with local history. Our vision is to create a dedicated space where educators can bring students on field trips without needing to travel a long distance. We hope to provide kids of all ages hands-on, interactive access to the stories and artifacts of the Inland Lowcountry. Additionally, the funds will support continued accessibility of our archives, ensuring community members can easily explore historical resources that were once difficult to find. The money was awarded for general operations with no restrictions on use, during a very competitive grant cycle.
The Coastal Community Foundation aims to support non-profits that encourage equity, well-being, and opportunity, through industry partnerships, leadership, and advocacy. Endowment funds established by individuals, families, businesses and organizations allow the organization’s combined resources to address local needs today and help chart a course for a brighter future in the nine counties along South Carolina’s coast. With the support of donors, CCF invests millions of dollars through grantmaking, impact investing, and scholarships each year.
Our team, our supporters, and our neighbors are grateful for your support, Coastal Community Foundation.
